I'm not a great one at photography if you can't tell! However, at work we sell these wax melts called 'little hotties' by Bomb Cosmetics. When I walk into work that is all I can smell and I can't resist going over to the stand and smelling all of the different waxes.
I had to buy a box and honestly I am in love. Some scents do not take my fancy at all such as baby powder, cotton fresh and delicate white tea while others like macaroon, morning coffee, pink rhubarb and liquorice and whipped cream all certainly get a massive tick from me!
The best thing about these wax melts is that you can mix and match them to create your own fragrance. My favourite is cherry kiss, biscuit, macaroon and almond milk which creates the smell of a warm cherry bakewell.
I usually use 4 wax melts in my burner but may add an extra 2 after 2 days just to heighten the scent a bit more. Usually a box of melts will give you 132 hours of fragrance.
These are perfect for an tea light or electric burner!
I feel as though I have reviewed a lot of MUA recently but oh well, I am loving their products so far!
The highlighter comes in 3 shades: pink shimmer, opalescent amber and iridescent gold. I have the pink and gold ones and I do have a firm favourite. The pink shimmer looks so natural and subtle on the skin and doesn't make you look caked in highlighter. The gold one, in my opinion, would look great on someone with a tan but I just don't and probably never will. However, this is beautiful for the inner corners of your eyes and as a brow bone highlight. It is absolutely stunning.
The texture is not too powdery as all and it is so compact in its packaging that I originally thought it was a cream to powder highlighter.. oops. Shimmery and pigmented, what is not to love? It also looks great on both matte and dewy skin but I definitely love it more with a dewy finish as it gives you an amazing radiant glow.

For £3, how could you even go wrong? I was not a highlighting person before I used these products.. wow, it sounds like I have a newly found proclaimed love for something which is starting to get slightly strange and weird.. The best thing ever is there is no oil so therefore, no acne breakouts!
With 63 5* reviews on the MUA website on the pink shimmer alone, I think you should try it!
As of the 30th of May, Iridescent Gold is sold out online!
Exactly as the heading says.. and I am mortified! My favourite mascara for years has been the Max Factor Eye Brightening mascara and having had really bad eyes in terms of infections for years, this really did not bother me at all and was amazing at lengthening and thickening your lashes and ultimately making your eyes look so bright and glowy!
I even resorted to looking on Ebay to try and find it and there is only black gold left (for hazel eyes) whereas I need black sapphire (blue eyes). I am honestly distraught like why?! It was honestly amazing! I think I may have a sneaky little trip to my nearest outlet store and buy the black gold. Obviously it wont work as well as the black sapphire did as I don't have hazel eyes but I do want my eyelashes to look nice again. No mascara is making the cut or even close to comparison. I have used the Benefit Roller Lash and was quite disappointed as it was just like a regular mascara and not worth the hype, the new Rimmel mascara with cucumber extracts and it made my eyelashes really spaced out and thin looking and I also tried the new Max Factor mascara that took my favourite's place which is still quite good but has nothing on eye brightening mascara.
I honestly feeling like I am mourning a loss writing this and it makes me think back to all of those amazing products that have been discontinued such as Mac's Liberty of London nail lacquer and Walls Twister shower gel.
So A-Level exams are less than a month away and this time last year, I was in your position. I used to sit on the end of my bed tirelessly making revision notes and flash cards for Psychology whilst my boyfriend played on the Xbox all night. Taking note of this one bit of information, my huge top tip for revision would be to be comfortable. If my boyfriend wasn't there, I would constantly be texting him and when I was revising he was not a distraction at all for example, when he was sick of the Xbox he would come sit next to me and watch a film I totally hated but what he loved and put earphones in so I wasn't distracted and it was just really nice and made me really enjoy revision.. Thanks James!
If you're not revising, I suggest you start now or once you've read this post. Please don't procrastinate like I did weeks on end, you just start to stress yourself out.
I am going to make a revision/exam post during the week about exam and revision tips but for now I want to help you battle the stress of revision or if you're worrying.
Get yourself a technique - Having a way in which you revise effectively can save time and stress. The different techniques you can have will be up in my next exam post during the week but if you know yours already please carry on but otherwise, there are a lot of websites that can help you with finding out what sort of learner you are and how you will revise best.
Suck up to your teachers - (Even if you hate them). I had one teacher I really did not like and I'm not sure she liked me up until I commented on her dress. I needed some help with one of my assessments and she just did not care but knowing she was interested in fashion, I told her I loved her dress and asked her loads of questions and miraculously, the day after, I had a feedback sheet with loads of bits of information which could help me and all of our assignments were marked and given back to us the next day (I must have put her in a really happy mood!). You really shouldn't have to do this to get teachers help but if its a must, it's needed.
Look at reports from past exams - In my college, we were highly encouraged to look at the syllabus for what we needed to know for the exam but the syllabus was the bane of my life and I hated it. But looking at examiners reports from previous exams gave me inside knowledge about what they were looking for and what people missed out, not explained in the syllabus and it therefore makes you know a little bit more about the topic and makes you feel more confident.
Drink water - Having a good drink of water really does help and just makes you feel more perky and ready to go. I drank a lot of caffeine as most people do before exams and I was bouncing off the walls!
Eat well - Feeling sick with nerves and being under pressure is not a good feeling but especially if you've had a big feast the night before revising or an exam, you may feel even more ill and will not feel motivated and therefore feel bad in yourself.
This eyeshadow stick was bought on a whim but thought it looked very similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks so I just knew I had to try it! On the website, the eyeshadow tints are described as 'Get a long-lasting tint of colour with this smooth cream eyeshadow. The easy-glide formula can be blended or worn alone for cool, block colour eyes. Encased in a handy chubby pencil the applicator rolls up for ease.' Honestly, I have been looking for a perfect base for my eyeshadows and these work perfectly and help my eyeshadows stay put and not budge at all. It even lasts me a 7 hour shift at work! I bought the shade 'A Girl Like Me' (a dark gold/champagne colour) and when I swatched the tester in the store, it looked a lot more darker than what it does now but I have noticed that the top of the eyeshadow tint is a different colour to the rest of the tube so whether something has gone wrong in the factory I do not know but honestly, both of the colours are amazing and I feel as though I am getting 2 for the price of 1.
Sticking to the name of the product for one second, all of the eyeshadow tints in the range are named after Rihanna's songs: 'Diamonds', 'A Girl Like Me', 'Bring It Back', 'Loud', 'Unfaithful' and 'Stay'. I am a bit disappointed there are only 6 colours in the range though! The consistency is very smooth but can be a little sticky when first applied but this feeling does go away after a few minutes. It is the perfect make up piece to have when you're in a hurry or just want something quick and look effortless. It is also easy to blend and ahh, I love it! What I like to do it apply this all over the lid and take my crease brush from Real Techniques and whatever colour has been on the brush the day before, use it in the crease and outer corners and my eyeshadow is done. If worn on its own, it does have the tendency to crease after a few hours but I have not found any problems with creasing if an eyeshadow is applied over the top. Overall, I really would recommend this product if you're looking for an everyday eyeshadow base or as an eyeshadow colour to add to your collection. Available in Superdrug for £3! (Sold out as of 24/05/2015 on the MUA store)
I never actually planned on getting this palette but because I spent over £8 in Superdrug on MUA products, I got this free £4 eyeshadow palette and I'm really glad that I did!
I do believe that this is definitely one of the best palette's that MUA has graced us with and I'm very proud to say I've been buying their products now since they have been stocked in Superdrug. It comes with a mixture of matte and glittery shades that would look beautiful whether they were used as a day time or night time look.
The eyeshadows themselves are very pigmented and creamy, making them easy to blend and they all compliment each other very well. The first 5 colours in the palette are my absolute favourite and I believe they are very similar to those in the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. The only downside that the black eyeshadow is not the best and it needs to be built up to get noticeable definition.
If you're planning on spending over £8 at Superdrug any time soon, I would highly recommend going as soon as possible so you're able to get your hands on the make up palette for absolutely free! Once they're gone, they're gone!
As much as I do love trying out new make up, my love really does lie with skin care and through-out my life I have made some absolutely horrendous mistakes which has caused dry skin, acne breakouts, scaring and sensitive skin. So I'm wanting to tell you some mistakes I made and hope that if you're doing the same, to please stop and save your beautiful skin!
1) Alcohol based cleansers - The bane of my life and what made my dry skin even worse. I was recommended by a skin care professional in Debenhams to go for a certain set of 3 steps that help get rid of acne so I was extremely happy when most have my acne had disappeared within a week but the dry patches started to become really red and angry and I was forced by a Doctor to stop using alcohol based toners/cleansers. However, in the certain '3 step system's' defence, they have now gone alcohol-free with their products, so good on you!
2) Over-exfoliating - As someone with dry skin, I used to do this to death and exfoliate every day, day and night but this removes the protective layer on your skin making you more prone to aging skin.
3) Not removing your make up - The classic and something that has happened with me many times. You think it's a good idea to just jump straight into bed and then you wake up in the morning and your skin feels like crap. As most of you will know, leaving on make up will clog your pores when your skin is trying to breathe and will more than likely cause a big spot (not good if you have an event the next day which has also happened to me too many times).
4) Not cleaning your brushes - Make up brushes need to be cleaned and whether that is using soap or a brush cleaner, it has to be done in order no dirt and grime goes in your pores.
5) Wearing your hair down for bed - This can cause a lot of oil build up where your hair is touching your face and due to the hair products, this can cause acne.
6) Using too many products - Applying too many products to the skin leads to a lot of build up and as a result, does not absorb into the skin so you get no benefits from the product and possibly a dry and acne prone face if use is regular. If there are multiple skin conditions then create a router in order to know what to use when, but don't apply together.
7) Using retinoid products during the day - Use them at night before bed as the sun can cause their properties to be useless and the whole idea of the product is again useless.
8) Products with a lot of chemicals - Don't use them! Please try not to! If there's something you like, maybe try and find a better alternative because at the end of the day, your skin will definitely not benefit from all of the chemicals.
9) Repeated use of the same make up - Make up essentially has a 'sell buy date' and using it past these dates can cause skin irritation or infection due to the spread of bacteria. After opening - eye products 3-6 months, make up sponges - 1 week (could lead to dermatitis otherwise), lip products - 1 year, powders - 2 years and foundations - 1 year.
